Book Review: The Tunnel by Sarah Howden

Sometimes you need to work through things alone. As a young boy tries to piece together the events that have recently taken place he finds that the journey to peace can be dark and lonely.

This book is both comforting and lonely. A young boy struggles with his feelings about major changes in his life. It is never explicitly stated what his loss is but the reader can infer that it is the loss of his father in some way. This book is about working through the process of loss at one's own pace and reaching out to others when they are ready. This is a great book to help readers understand that it is okay to want to be alone or to want comfort and to work through your feelings in your own time.
